The International Internship Program offers students the opportunity to explore their field in another country, gain professional experience, and build their professional networks. Interns work full-time under the guidance of an English-speaking supervisor in placements customized to the student’s field and professional goals.

Updates
- Eligibility: Freshman to seniors graduating in May and graduate students; no language requirements; 2.5 GPA, but lower possible with consultation; all locations are open to all majors; no previous internship experience required; international students welcome.
- New model in Shanghai: program starts with a two week survival Mandarin and professional development program before the full-time internship begins. Good for students who want more structure while settling in.

- Internships are credit-eligible. Students interested in credit should discuss options for credit with their academic advisor.

Freeman Stipend for Internships in Asia
The Freeman Stipend for Internships in Asia provides generous awards starting at $2000 to undergraduate and graduate students interning in East and Southeast Asia. Upon their return, recipients complete a project to share their experience with the campus community.

- Eligibility: Open to undergraduate and graduate students at UT; must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents; internships of at least six weeks; internships do not need to be through a UT program or for UT academic credit.
