My name is Marwa Najem, a current student at UT majoring in Health and Society. I’m originally from Dallas, but Austin has been my home for two years. My goal is not only to become a doctor, but to understand how medicine can be more than just medicalization of issues and rather an understanding that is very well rounded of individuals so that I can better improve their long-term health and life overall. I strongly believe, that writing health blogs is one step into accomplishing this goal. Aside from medicine, I enjoy drawing, spending time with my awesome family and friends. I also enjoy yoga, journaling, and definitely enjoy the outdoors. Currently, I’m a competitive lifter on the Longhorn PowerLifting team, which is a sport that has allowed me to express my energy and skills. I have so much energy for life, and I enjoy motivating others and pushing them to accomplish their goals, because their success also pushes me to achieve mine.
