The TSL hosted (via teleconference) the ARMADILLO Mission Readiness Review. Participants included representatives from the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), the Georgia Institute of Technology, and Tyvak Nano-Satellite Systems, Inc. The review was deemed a PASS. TSL students Zac McLaughlin and Alexis Zinni presented material to the various representatives.
TSL at Explore UT!
The TSL participated in the annual Explore UT event. TSL students discussed with visitors several of the many aspects that go into building a spacecraft. The students walked the visitors through putting together 3D-printed CubeSat facsimiles to describe how spacecraft communicate, generate power, maneuver, and more.
Onsite JSC Seeker Demo
Members of the TSL traveled with UT ASE Professor Maruthi Akella to NASA Johnson Space Center (JSC) to deliver a demonstration of the current state of Seeker 1 Vision software. TSL students Gavin Martin, Carson Schubert, and Pratyush Singh presented material to JSC.
Anderson High School Given a Facility Tour
The TSL hosted STEM teacher David O’Dell and a group of students from Austin’s Anderson High School. Gavin Martin, Zac McLaughlin, and Pratyush Singh described the TSL’s ongoing projects and answered questions about designing, building, and operating small spacecraft as college students.
Seeker 1 Demonstrated to JSC
12/04/17: The TSL and UT ASE Professor Maruthi Akella hosted representatives from NASA Johnson Space Center (JSC) for a demonstration of the Seeker 1 Vision software under development by Akella and the TSL. TSL students Julia La Colla, Gavin Martin, C.J. Maxwell, Carson Schubert, and Pratyush Singh presented material to our JSC guests.
Armadillo GORR Passed
The TSL hosted representatives from the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, NM for the ARMADILLO Ground Operations Readiness Review (GORR). The review was deemed a PASS. TSL students James Crowley, Stephanie Langford, Anna Ly, Gavin Martin, Dillan McDonald, Zac McLaughlin, Josefina Salazar, and Alexis Zinni presented material to our AFRL guests.
