Association of Texas’ 2021 Ban on Abortion in Early Pregnancy With the Number of Facility-Based Abortions in Texas and Surrounding States

The Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) published findings from Texas Policy Evaluation Project regarding abortion care after Senate Bill 8 was implemented in September 2021. Senate Bill 8 is one of the strictest abortion bans in the United States, making abortions after about 6 weeks illegal. TxPEP analyzed the abortion decline in Texas which suggests how abortion care may change following the decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.
