Urban Information Lab Secures $1.4 Million in Funding for Joint Project

As extreme weather events happen more frequently in the Central Texas region, it’s becoming more important to not only study and understand these events, but also figure out how to better prepare for them. The Urban Information Lab, along with the LBJ School of Public Affairs and the Cockrell School of Engineering, was recently selected for $1.4 million in federal funds to study these events and how to mitigate their impacts. U.S. Rep. Lloyd Doggett secured initial approval for this project, providing the necessary funds for this City of Austin and UT Austin partnership project.
