Book Discussion
Don’t let Oprah have all the fun. Come join us the 3 rd Thursday of every month at 10:00 AM for book discussions and refreshments. Each month we read a book one member has read and recommended, and we try to keep a balance of fiction and nonfiction. Our discussions will include both the book and its author. We have a fun group and discussions can be lively. Hope you can join us.
Foreign Foods
The Foreign Foods group meets once a month to enjoy preparing and tasting food that may originate from lands far and near, and also to enjoy each other’s company. Almost always we have a Mardi Gras dinner! On the third Saturday or Sunday of each month, we meet at a home (spouses/partners are invited, and singles come too) for an evening meal. The hostess has two or three co-hostesses who share in the preparations; costs are shared by the group. In certain months, each member brings an appetizer or dessert.
Walking Adventures
Each month, a different member of the Walking Adventures group plans an outing. Our adventures have taken us to parks, museums, nature centers, nearby communities, university buildings of note and even the downtown central library. We meet the first Thursday of the month around 10 AM followed by lunch at a nearby restaurant. The adventures are suitable for folks who have a little difficulty walking.
Wine Tasting
Our “Ladies of the Vine” group meets once a month for a member researched and informative presentation including wine tastings. We select from a wide variety of wines from the USA and around the world. The annual charge of $20 covers the cost of wines for the year. Spouses and others are included in the April meeting.
