Welcome to the 128th year of the University Ladies Club. It should be a very exciting year all around because it’s also a presidential election year, and we are probably all feeling the stress of our country’s political turmoil. We may have different opinions, but as ULC members, we share our loyalty to the University of Texas and our belief that education is the key to improving the world around us.
We come together in fellowship and fun in our interest groups and luncheons, enjoying good food and programs, good books, foreign foods, walking adventures, and wine tasting. Life is too short not to enjoy it.
The Littlefield Home is no longer available, so our Holiday Brunch will again be in the University Tower. We enjoyed it very much and are happy to continue going there. You will have the opportunity to meet our scholarship recipients. Please consider donating to the ULC scholarship fund that helps our chosen recipients.
Sadly, the Austin Women’s Club has become beyond our budget for luncheons, but we can continue enjoying Balcones Country Club.
Congratulations to the thirty student and alumni athletes and seven coaches with ties to UT Athletics who will participate in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris!
Heartfelt thanks to all our officers and committee chairs for their excellent work and service. We couldn’t do it without everyone’s participation, so thanks to all members for showing up. Especially thanks to those who have continued to serve ULC during the summer and in particular to Suzanne Mayne for doing the newsletter and to Bretna Hackert for spending summer hours producing this important Yearbook, and to those who helped stuff the mailing envelopes.
Stay healthy, and Hook ’Em Horns!
