The WeTeach_CS Program at UT Austin’s Center for STEM Education will be accepting applications for Computer Science Collaboratives in Texas beginning October 18, 2017. Proposals are due November 29, 2017.
The purpose of this Request For Application (RFA) is to solicit grant applications from eligible organizations to implement programs that improve the computational thinking and academic achievement in computer science students through partnerships among institutions of higher education, local education agencies, elementary schools, and secondary schools. Each partnership will provide high quality and sustained professional development focused on the education of computer science teachers. Such training should continuously stimulate teachers’ intellectual growth and upgrade teachers’ knowledge and skills through activities that are grounded in scientifically based research and aligned with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for Computer Science. Awards are contingent upon funding.
