2010 – 2011 Carnegie Endowment Junior Fellows Program

Deadline for The University of Texas at Austin nominations:  November 18, 2010

Nominations are now being accepted for The University of Texas at Austin selection of candidates for the 2010 – 2011 Carnegie Endowment Junior Fellows Program.  Eligible students will be in their senior year or alumni who have graduated within the past academic year and have not yet started graduate studies. A maximum of two students will be selected to represent The University of Texas at Austin in the competition to be selected as a Carnegie Endowment Junior Fellow.

Criteria for selection include outstanding academic achievement, demonstrated leadership ability, excellent communication skills and interest in developing a global perspective on world events. Applicants should have completed a significant amount of course work in international affairs, political science, economics, history, mathematics, Russian, Mandarin Chinese, native or near-native Arabic, Middle East studies, energy or climate studies and/or communications

The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace is a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing cooperation between nations and promoting active international engagement by the United States.  As one of the world’s leading think tanks specializing in international affairs, the Endowment conducts programs of research, discussion, publication and education.  The Junior Fellows Program at the Carnegie Endowment is designed to provide a substantive work experience for students who have a serious career interest in the area of international affairs.  Approximately 8-10 students will be hired to work at the Carnegie Endowment in Washington, DC on a full-time basis for a period of one year. http://www.carnegieendowment.org/about/index.cfm?fa=jrFellows
