Actors from the London Stage presents: Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing

B. Iden Payne Theatre | Wednesday, October 22, 2014

5:45 PM Pre-performance seminar

7:30 PM Performance

Much Ado About Nothing is considered one of Shakespeare’s most popular comedies. Audiences delight when Benedick, a cocky solider recently returned from war, and Beatrice, a witty and sharp-tongued lady of Messina, engage in a classic battle of wit. When the two swear that they will never fall in love, their friends set a plan to bring the two of them together.

Actors from the London Stage (AFTLS) is an educational program housed at the University of Notre Dame, which brings classically trained actors from major English theaters to tour college campuses across the United States. Known for their unique performance style, AFTLS brings Much Ado About Nothing to life with five classically trained actors with minimal props and costumes.

In addition to the performance, there will be a pre-performance seminar by Dr. David Kornhaber of the department of English. Refreshments will be served.

Tickets are available beginning Friday, October 10, 2014 at 9 a.m. in the University Honors Center (CRD 23). Please bring a completed application and the $5 program fee ($5 per reservation. Checks/money orders should be made out to The University of Texas at Austin. Cash is not accepted.)

Tickets are limited and available on a first come, first served basis.

If you have any questions please call the UHC at 471-6524.  This program is made possible through the sponsorship of the L.L. and Ethel E. Dean Endowment in the School of Undergraduate Studies.
