About Us

We are the Comprehensive Care research team at Dell Medical School. We aim to improve patient outcomes and overall health in our society through clinical and nonclinical advancements. We seek to evaluate, teach, and disseminate care models that account for individual values and circumstances.

Our Vision (Principles):

  • Build a cohesive team with diverse backgrounds and experiences.
  • Establish a research climate that motivates individuals with fresh perspectives.
  • Encourage hands-on learning at all levels of education.

Our work includes:

  1. Dry/Clinical Research: We work with several Austin orthopedic surgeons on projects involving improving the quality of treatment, patient-clinician relationships, pain management, and other important aspects to orthopedics and healthcare in general.
    1. Two large areas of research include:
      1. Doctor-Patient Empathy
      2. Patient Satisfaction
  2. Community Health Initiatives: We currently have two medical blogs (Sports Medicine and Medical Myths) that hope to improve the health literacy of the community.
    1. Sports Medicine: We realized that most peoples interaction and knowledge of Orthopedics is through sports medicine and sports-related injuries. Unfortunately, the information published about sports injuries is often incomplete or inaccurate.
    2. Medical Myths: Similar to the Sports Medicine blog, this aims to dispel common medical myths seen on the internet and other media outlets.
    3. Self-Care:
