Jay Lappin is a structural family therapist who maintains an active clinical practice with families, couples and individuals. He is licensed as a clinical social worker in New Jersey and Pennsylvania and is also licensed as a marriage and family counselor in New Jersey. During much of his career, he has consulted and trained in larger systems such as child protection, mental health, schools and in the private sector. He has presented extensively at national conferences for the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy, the American Orthopsychiatric Association, the Psychotherapy Networker Symposium – and internationally. Jay is adjunct faculty at Drexel University Couples and Family Therapy Program and University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education. His writing and interests include work with low income families, family and couples therapy and ethnicity. He is the Minuchin Center for the Family Acting Board Director and was a contributing editor (1981-2013) for the Psychotherapy Networker.
