Claudia Geist is an Associate Professor of Sociology and Gender Studies at the University of Utah. Her research lies at the intersection of gender, families, and inequalities. Her current work examines the gendered division of labor, family formation, and the social construction of gender, and sexuality. She is a co-author of the award-winning book Counted Out and has published articles in Contraception, Demography, Journal of Marriage and Family, PLOS One, and Social Forces.
