Gabriela Nomura Named Cockrell School Outstanding Scholar-Leader

Congratulations to Gabriela Nomura, named the 2025 Cockrell School of Engineering Outstanding Scholar-Leader!

Gabriela completed her B.S. in Biomedical Engineering at UT Austin and was a research assistant in the DMIC Lab for two years, developing an AI model for lung lobe segmentation that was presented at the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C. and is now published.

She is now pursuing a combined M.D. and Master’s in Engineering en route to becoming a physician-engineer.
