Gabriela Nomura

Gabriela Nomura is currently a Biomedical Engineering (BME) undergraduate student at the University of Texas at Austin. She was born and raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil. She is the co-chair of Baylor College of Medicine’s Cancer Prevention Advisory Council, where she focuses on creating media and educational resources to prevent lung cancers in the younger population. She has experience working with international children that underwent reconstructive surgery in the Texas Medical Center in Houston.

After joining Dr. Castillo’s team, Gabriela’s research interests are computational methods for medical image analysis and modeling of disease.
