The University of Texas at Austin is one of the 13 North America university teams in the EcoCAR EV Challenge, a prestigious collegiate competition to re-engineer state-of-the-art vehicles and prepare students for the future.

The EcoCAR EV Challenge is the latest Advanced Vehicle Technology Competition (AVTC) headline sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), General Motors (GM), and MathWorks, and managed by Argonne National Laboratory. The EcoCAR EV Challenge is a four-year collegiate automotive engineering competition, providing an unparalleled, multidisciplinary, hands-on educational and training experience that transforms the traditional classroom environment into a hub of automotive innovation.

100+ undergraduate and graduate students from various disciplines will participate in the UT Austin EcoCAR team.
