Statewide Domestic Violence Prevalence Study (2011)

Funded by the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division, in partnership with the Texas Council on Family Violence, this prevalence study sought to understand the scope and impact of intimate partner violence in Texas. Telephone interviews were conducted with 1074 adult Texans about their experiences with intimate partner violence. Findings showed a significant proportion of Texans had experiences with intimate partner violence, and these experiences in turn could have devastating impacts on the lives of these individuals.
