IDVSA’s 2011 sexual assault needs assessment study found that a large number of victims of non-stranger sexual assault drop out or disengage from the criminal justice system process. In response to this finding, IDVSA developed empirically-grounded tools for law enforcement to examine practices and recommendations to improve engagements with victims of non-stranger sexual assault.
