Paula is a passionate activist using her voice and personal experience to fight the opioid epidemic. She has years of personal experience as a mother of a child suffering from substance use disorder. After losing her son Parker from an opiate overdose, she founded The Parker Gill Foundation, to support prevention and recovery efforts in Arkansas to save lives from overdose. In addition to her personal experience, Paula is a Registered Nurse, currently employed as the Manager of Medical Policy Administration at Arkansas Blue Cross Blue Shield. She serves on the Board of Directors of Next Step Recovery Housing and is a member of the Arkansas Peers Achieving Recovery Together (APART) coalition.
