Join the Kowalski Lab

The Kowalski Lab is dedicated to advancing cancer clinical genomics through interdisciplinary collaboration. We welcome individuals from diverse backgrounds and career stages—from undergraduates to visiting scholars—to contribute to our mission of improving cancer treatment through molecular insights.

Our research focuses on translational models that define molecular alterations associated with cancer therapies, utilizing public domain data and computational tools to inform treatment choices. We are part of the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Oncology, fostering a collaborative environment with world-class experts and state-of-the-art technologies.

Prospective Undergraduate Students

We offer undergraduate students the chance to engage in cancer genomics research. To apply, please complete the Kowalski Lab Undergraduate Research Application.

Application Deadlines:
  • Spring Term: December 1
  • Summer Term: April 15
  • Fall Term: August 1

Applicants will be notified of available positions approximately one month before the term begins. If you do not receive a notification, you are welcome to reapply for a future term.

Prospective Data Analyst

The Lab is currently looking for a Data Analyst! We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic researchers to carry out research in the area of cancer clinical grade sequencing and experientially train in genomics in medicine, within a highly collaborative and interdisciplinary environment.

Our cancer research program focuses on translational research models to define molecular alterations associated with the processes targeted by various cancer therapies and use these associations to inform a treatment choice in trial design. We use several public domain data sources for obtaining molecular data types and clinical outcomes data from various cancers and apply methods for combining them to extract relevant information. We also use information on cancer cell biology to develop strategies to define molecular susceptibilities that may be targeted by treatment. We seek a Data Analyst to carry out computational research in a highly collaborative and interdisciplinary environment with world-class experts and state-of-the-art technologies.
