Portugal Archaeology Program – Summer 2016

This is a fun and exciting opportunity to conduct archaeological fieldwork in Portugal this summer. The final application deadline is February 1st (application attached). We have an info session scheduled for next week. All majors welcome; no experience necessary.

The Portugal Archaeology Field School is a four-week study abroad summer program offered through the Department of Anthropology. From May 23 to June 18, students learn archaeology excavation techniques at an Iron Age/Roman Period hill fort settlement in northern Portugal. Students will learn how to process the archaeological artifacts they excavate. Participating students will earn six hours of upper-division Anthropology credit for ANT 662 Field Archaeology, which carries the Ethics & Leadership and Global Cultures flags.
