Foreign Language & Area Studies Fellowship – Center for European Studies

Applications are open for Summer ’19 and academic year 2019-20 Foreign Language and Area Studies fellowships funded by the US Department of Education and administered through the Center for European Studies. We welcome applications from undergraduate students who are studying a European language (excluding French, German, and Spanish) at the intermediate level and beyond. Undergraduate FLAS Fellows receive $7,500 for summer funding ($5,000 for tuition, $2,500 for living expenses), $15,000 for academic year funding ($10,000 for tuition, $5,000 for living expenses). The FLAS fellowship program is open to US citizens, nationals, and permanent residents. A list of languages approved by the Dept. of Education, FAQs, and electronic application can be found on CES’ FLAS website. Deadline to submit application is 5:00pm, January 14, 2019.
