Foot in the Door Spring 2020 Auditions

Foot in the Door will be holding auditions for our spring shows this Thursday (1/30) and Friday (1/31) from 7-10pm! We don’t have a location yet because UT’s room reservation system is super backed up, so check the Facebook event or Facebook page for updates on the day of auditions.

This semester, we are performing two student-written plays: The Disappointing Invention of Stella Tartakovsky by Scotty Villhard, and She Could Have Been Great by Anonymous. You can read the role descriptions in the Facebook event for more information about the kinds of parts each show has.

I’ve never auditioned for a Foot in the Door show before. Can I audition? Of course! No experience necessary, and all majors are welcome.

How do auditions work? Show up any time between 7-10pm. Bring a pencil, a water bottle, and your enthusiasm, and be prepared to fill out an audition form with your tentative availability for the semester. We will have scenes for you to read for us, and you don’t need to do any preparation ahead of time. The audition process is supposed to be fun and stress-free, plus it’s a chance to meet your potential future castmates!

Should I come to both audition days? Nope! You only need to come to one of the two days, although you’re welcome to come to both. We’re happy to have you read for as much time as you’re available.

What if I just want to do tech? Come to auditions, and we’ll have a tech form for you to fill out. That’s all you’ll need to do, and then we’ll contact you if we’ve chosen you to tech one of our shows!

Any more questions? Please, feel free to message our Facebook page or reply to this email, and we’ll try to answer any questions you have.
