2023 COLA Book Fair!

Join us on October 11 from 1–5 p.m. for the second annual COLA BOOK FAIR!

The event will feature:

  • New faculty publications for sale
  • FREE book giveaways from the libraries of your favorite faculty members
  • FREE T-shirts, bookmarks, and other swag
  • Live music from Butler School of Music students
  • Book signings by COLA faculty members
  • Readings from faculty authors
  • Student magazine representatives

McNair Scholars Program Fall 2023

The Ronald E. McNair Scholars Program, part of the U.S. Department of Education’s funded TRIO programs, guides first-generation and low-income and/or underrepresented students into Ph.D. programs, and provides funding to assist with that process.

Applications are due on Friday, December 8th at 11:59 PM.

Truman Scholarship Applications Now Open

The Harry S. Truman Scholarship provides $30,000 towards a public service-related graduate degree to students who aspire to work in a public service career.  The Truman foundation broadly defines public service to include employment in government, public-interest organizations, nongovernmental research, academic institutions, and nonprofit organizations. Juniors, or seniors, graduating in 2024-25, OR, seniors graduating early (3 years or less) in 2023-24 are eligible to apply. UT application deadline: October 27th, 2023.

Health Careers Mentorship Program (HCMP) Applications Open!

Interested in shadowing and mentorship?

UT Austin’s Health Careers Mentorship Program is dedicated to teaching mature, motivated pre-health students about both the clinical and non-clinical aspects of health care through shadowing, mentorship, and professional development opportunities. HCMP offers 60+ hours of physician shadowing in various specialties. The application timeline and information session dates can be found on their WebsiteFacebook, and Instagram.

Any eligible UT Austin pre-health student who will be in Austin for at least two semesters can apply. Applications close on Thursday, October 12th at 11:59 PM.
