Study Abroad Scholarship Opportunity!

This spring, the Senate of College Councils Academic Enrichment Committee will be awarding three $1,000 Study Abroad Scholarships to qualified UT students! Eligible applicants must be an undergraduate or graduate student at UT Austin currently accepted into an accredited Maymester or Summer 2024 program.

 

Additionally, applicants must have (1) completed two semesters or be currently enrolled in their 2nd semester, (2) have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 and (3) be in good academic standing. The application is due on Sunday, March 3rd at 11 PM CST. Advise TX: College Advising Corps

Advise TX places recent college graduates as full-time college advisers in Title One high schools in five regions of Texas. Advise TX provides the support that students in Title One high schools require to navigate the complex processes of college admissions, matriculation and financial aid. The University of Texas at Austin chapter has 18 advisers serving Central Texas, Dallas, El Paso, Houston and the Rio Grande Valley.

  • 11 month contract with the option to renew for another year (perfect for anyone wanting a gap year or two).

Middle Eastern Studies Summer Language Institutes

Hebrew Summer Institute

Earn 12 hours of Hebrew language credit from UT Austin (UT Extension) during UT’s summer session. Reach intermediate level Hebrew in just 10 weeks, no language background required!

Arabic Summer Institute

The Project 2024

The Project is UT Austin’s largest day of student service. This university-wide event helps thousands of students, faculty, and staff each year connect with a different Austin neighborhood. It is organized and run by the Community Engagement Collective (CEC) and annually marks the culmination of a year-long partnership between the CEC and the selected neighborhood’s community leaders.

Join us on March 2nd, 2024 as we partner with the Dove Springs neighborhood to complete beautification projects!

Summer Internship Program

Texas LEAD is happy to announce that we are now accepting applications for our Summer Internship Program. This program provides undergraduate students at The University of Texas at Austin real-world professional experiences while being supported by competitive compensation and housing assistance. The program takes place May 20 through July 26, 2024. Positions will have in-person and virtual responsibilities.

McNair Scholars Program Spring 2024

Applications for the McNair Scholars Program are now open for Spring! McNair, part of the U.S. Department of Education’s funded TRIO programs, guides first-generation and low-income students into Ph.D. programs, and provides funding to assist with that process.

Polish Club-LAH Event

The Polish Club at UT will be hosting Stephen Mull, former U.S. Ambassador to Poland and former U.S. Ambassador to Lithuania, as he delivers a speech entitled “The U.S.-Poland Special Friendship.” The event will feature a moderated audience Q&A and will take place on Friday, February 16th, at 10:00am through Microsoft Teams. 2024-25 Brumley Fellowships Now Open!

Applications for the 2024-25 Brumley Next Generation Graduate Fellows and Undergraduate Scholars programs are now open! These unique opportunities for UT students provide opportunities in policy-oriented research training, mentorship, collaboration, and networking to students from varied disciplines across the Forty Acres.

For Graduate Students: The Brumley Fellows Program

  • Participation in Brumley Speakers Series events and colloquia
  • Original research and writing, conducted under the mentorship of a UT faculty member
  • $3,000 stipend contingent upon participation in Strauss Center events
  • Additional funding for travel or research

For Undergraduate Students: The Brumley Scholars Program

  • Travel to Washington, DC as part of the annual Brumley Scholars DC study trip

UT Co-op Mitchell Undergraduate Awards

Each spring, with the generous support of the University Co-op, UT recognizes up to five undergraduate students for superior scholarly or creative achievement. Four will receive awards of $5,000, and one student will receive the top award of $7,000!

The application and all supporting materials must be received by Wednesday, March 20.

Who can apply?

  • Applicants must be either a junior or senior currently enrolled at UT or a UT graduate who received their undergraduate degree in December 2023.
  • Students must demonstrate superior scholarly or creative achievement through a notable paper or thesis, research project, creative or artistic endeavor, or other product of their academic work.
  • Submitted work should be finished or almost finished (e.g. a complete draft of a thesis or research paper).
  • Previous Mitchell Award recipients are eligible only if the submitted work is a completely different project.
