Looking for alternative mental health support options or just craving genuine connection with peers? Check out the Longhorn SHARE Project (Support, Healing, Active listening, Reciprocity, Empowerment), a peer support program focused on mental health and social connection! A team of trained peer ‘SHARE Support Specialists’ facilitate non-clinical, non-hierarchical opportunities for students to open up and find validation around shared struggles and exchange support and resources using the combined wisdom of their lived experiences. The following are open to all UT undergraduate and graduate students:
- SHARE Communities: Weekly peer-led communities for support & connection around specific concerns or identities.
- SHARE Circles: An impactful group activity for student orgs, classes, and res halls! Increase community, empathy, and understanding in your group with a turn-taking structure that ensures everyone’s voices are heard.
