Introduction to Diversity in Doctoral Education and Scholarship (IDDEAS@Wharton)

The application deadline for the 7th annual Introduction to Diversity in Doctoral Education and Scholarship (IDDEAS@Wharton) program hosted at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania is soon approaching.

IDDEAS@Wharton is a two-day program, April 4-5, 2019, introducing outstanding undergraduates to the field of business academia and research. The aim of IDDEAS@Wharton is to create a diverse doctoral student environment and, in turn, a diverse faculty population.

The program is designed for undergraduate students who demonstrate a strong interest in math, statistics, economics, psychology/sociology, and/or engineering related disciplines and want to know more about PhD research degrees in business. We encourage all interested students to apply.  IDDEAS@Wharton will give participants an opportunity to experience what it means to be a PhD student and to enter a career as a professor, academic and/or researcher. IDDEAS@Wharton participants will take part in doctoral-level research exercises, take mini-master classes with Wharton faculty, hear from Wharton doctoral students, and much more.

To enrich the field of business academia and research, the IDDEAS@Wharton program invites applicants from all academic and personal backgrounds.

Participation in IDDEAS@Wharton is through a competitive selection process. Attendance and accommodations are free of charge including modest travel grants. The application deadline is January 31, 2019. You can access the application here. In addition to the application form, applicants must submit an essay, self-reported or official transcripts, and a letter of recommendation from a faculty member or advisor.
