Fall 2025 Education Abroad Scholarships

The following scholarship applications for Fall 2025 are live and accepting applications on LASSO. Please visit their respective links to find more information regarding eligibility, the application process, and more!

The deadline to apply for each of these awards is April 1st, 11:59PM on LASSO. We will also host our Education Abroad Fall 2025 Scholarship Presentation on February 20, 2025, at 1 pm. Students can register for the event on Qualtrics (linked here). The presentation will be recorded and emailed to everyone who RSVPed.

LAH Study Abroad Scholarships

The Liberal Arts Honors Program will award scholarships in varying amounts to support LAH students and Humanities majors who will be studying abroad in Summer, and/or Fall.  An LAH student may apply for this scholarship by writing a one-page statement of his or her study abroad plans. The statement should include where and what the student will be studying, the projected cost involved, and the role that study abroad and the mastery of a foreign language plays in the student’s academic and career goals.

Now is the time to apply! Deadlines are:

April 1st, 11:59 pm for Fall and Summer.

Maymesters may apply in Spring or Fall, as long as they are able to confirm participation.

Please submit your application online through LASSO (linked here). Both LAH students and Humanities majors are eligible to apply for the LAH Study Abroad scholarship. Please contact the LAH office with any questions!

Tyler Fellowships

The Office of Undergraduate Research is accepting applications for 2025 Tyler Fellows at The University of Texas at Austin. Six Tyler Fellows will be awarded between $3,000 and $3,500 each to support independent research abroad during spring or summer 2025. Funding for these awards is provided by the Tyler Center for Global Studies. Applications are due 11:59 p.m. Monday, Feb. 3, 2025.

UC Berkeley Comp Lit Undergraduate Symposium

The UC Berkeley Comparative Literature department is proud to announce that the call for submissions is open for our 12th Annual Undergraduate Symposium,  “Translating Reality” on April 12, 2025.

Killam Fellowship Program

The Killam Fellowships Program application for awards for the 2025-26 academic year is now open! The UT application deadline is December 13th, 2024.

The Program provides a funded opportunity for exceptional undergraduate students to spend either a semester or a full academic year as an exchange student in Canada at one of 18 participating partner institutions. Applicants will list their top choices of institutions which vary in location, size, language immersion, and academic offerings leaving flexibility to find a school that meets their personal and academic needs.

Embedded Scholars 2025 Fellowships

The Embedded Scholars Program has opened its 2025 Fellowship Application focused on democratic and constitutional development in Latin America, Eurasia, and the Balkans. This is a funded international internship open to undergraduate and graduate students from any major at UT.

The program provides unparalleled opportunities for students interested in democracy to work with the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance in Latin America and the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs in Eurasia and the Balkans. Students receive training at UT in the spring before going abroad for the summer to support democracy assistance programs and conduct original research.

Join us for an information session and coffee on October 15, 2024, from 12:30-1:30pm, in BAT 5.108 or on Zoom. Program directors and prior fellows will share more about the program and fellows’ work in the field.

Gilman Scholarship for Pell Students

The Gilman Scholarship is a generous federal scholarship for study abroad and a great opportunity for U.S. citizens receiving a Federal Pell Grant to fund their international experience. UT Austin is consistently a top producer of Gilman Scholars.

Education Abroad is hosting two virtual information sessions to help students prepare a competitive application. During the information sessions, we will cover scholarship details, selection criteria, and tips for submitting a competitive application. We will also host an in-person writing workshop for essay review.

Information Sessions:

  • Tuesday, September 17, 5:00-6:30 pm via Zoom
  • Friday, September 27, 12:00-1:30 pm via Zoom

Writing Workshop:

  • Friday, October 4, 12:00-3:00 pm in UTC 1.130

The online application is now open for applicants whose in-person programs or internships start between December 1, 2024, to October 31, 2025. This cycle encompasses Winter or January term 2025, Spring 2025, May term 2025, Summer 2025, Fall 2025, and academic year 2025-2026 abroad programs.
