Gilman Scholarship Information Sessions and Workshop

The Gilman Scholarship is a generous federal scholarship for study abroad and a great opportunity for U.S. citizens receiving a Federal Pell Grant to fund their international experience. UT Austin is consistently a top producer of Gilman Scholars.

Education Abroad is hosting 2 virtual information sessions to help students prepare a competitive application. During the information sessions, we will cover scholarship details, selection criteria, and tips for submitting a competitive application. We will also host 1 in-person writing workshops for essay review.

The online application is now open for applicants whose in-person or virtual programs start between December 1, 2021, to October 31, 2022. Virtual programs will be eligible through Summer 2022. The deadline for students to apply is Tuesday, October 52021, at 11:59 pm (Pacific Time).

UTNY Summer 2022 Application

The UT in New York (UTNY) program will be holding an upcoming general information session for students interested in participating during the Summer 2022 semester and beyond. It will be available both in-person and via Zoom.

UTNY Opportunity for CoLA students – Spring 2021 Recruitment

Apply to the Normandy Scholar Program

The Normandy Scholar Program is open to all majors on campus and does not require a foreign language. It offers one-semester (Spring 2021) of intensive study of the causes, course, and impact of World War Two, followed by a nearly month-long faculty-led trip to the most important World War Two sites and museums in London, Normandy, Paris, Berlin, Cracow, and Warsaw.

Students who meet the program requirements and are looking for an extraordinary educational opportunity are invited to apply!

Teresa Lozano Long Institute Call for Applications!

The Teresa Lozano Long Institute of Latin American Studies is now offering a number of travel scholarships to Liberal Arts majors for study abroad in Latin America, both for summer 2020 and for academic year 2020-2021.  For summer 2020, we are offering ten $2,500 travel scholarships.  Students must attend degree-granting institutions in Latin America this coming summer for a summer session and return with at least six hours of college credit.  For academic year 2020-2021, we will award six $5,000 travel scholarships for semester-long study abroad in Latin America.  Awardees must attend degree-granting institutions in Latin America and return with at least 12 hours of college credit.  These awards are merit-based.
