Gilman Scholarship for Pell Students

The Gilman Scholarship is a generous federal scholarship for study abroad and a great opportunity for U.S. citizens receiving a Federal Pell Grant to fund their international experience. UT Austin is consistently a top producer of Gilman Scholars.

If interested, the office for Education Abroad is hosting two virtual information sessions to help students prepare a competitive application. During the information sessions, we will cover scholarship details, selection criteria, and tips for submitting a competitive application. We will also host an in-person writing workshop for essay review.

Global Change Maker Scholarship Applications

Are you considering studying or interning abroad?

The Center for Global Business is offering scholarship awards of up to $5,000 to support students pursuing international experience through study abroad or international internships.  Students from all undergraduate majors are welcome to apply, and all varieties of study abroad and international internship programs are eligible.

Applications for travel in Spring 2024 are now open, and priority applications for Summer/Fall 2024 travel are also being accepted. Applications are due September 30th, 2023.

COLA Common Read Event

Please join us for the next installment of The Futures Initiative: Liberal Arts in Sustainability & Nonprofits- A Conversation with Kareece Sacco.

Kareece Sacco, a UT Geography Alum, will be sharing how her liberal arts degree helped her lead teams building sustainable clean water solutions in rural Kenya and start her own consulting practice providing comprehensive support and expertise in various aspects of nonprofit operations.

Kareece is the former Executive Director of Well Aware, was nominated as an Austin Women Magazine Woman to Watch and supports and volunteers for multiple Austin-based nonprofit organizations. She looks forward to sharing her career journey with current liberal arts longhorns.

Creative Career Community Resource Fair

Interested in pursuing a career in the creative industry?

Texas Career Engagement would like to invite all students interested in creative careers and opportunities to our Creative Career Community Resource Fair on September 6th from 4-5pm in FAC 2.236. Come talk to on-campus organizations and local employers to get involved and learn more about breaking into this career field. Open to all majors!

Normandy Scholar Program on WWII Spring Applications

The Normandy Scholar Program on WWII is accepting applications for a two-part program for the Spring 2024 semester. Consisting of 14 weeks of instruction and a three and a half week tour of WWII-related sites in Europe, UT students across all academic disciplines are invited to apply (no foreign language required)!

ADAPT Hiring Student Consultants (23-24)

The Assessment, Data Analytics & Planning Team (ADAPT), within the Division of Student Affairs is hiring new paid Student Consultants for the upcoming academic year to enhance and support the work we do for students.

The position was created in 2017 by the Vice President for Student Affairs office as an avenue for obtaining student feedback on current campus-related events, programs, and policies affecting student life at The University of Texas at Austin.  Any currently enrolled UT Austin undergraduate or graduate student interested in a paid position as a Student Consultant must complete the application by September 6th at 11:59pm.

UWC Open Mic Night

On Wednesday, September 6th, the University Writing Center is hosting an Open Mic Night in celebration of 30 years of writing! This event will take place at the Cactus Cafe from 4-7pm, with performances of spoken word and music (and food!).

This event is open for anyone to attend or perform. There are both 5 and 10 minute sign-up slots; performers can also sign-up at the event itself, but spots will be limited and not guaranteed. We will be gathering at 4 pm and performances will start at 5 pm. We hope to see you there!

Texas Tour Guides are student employees of the Undergraduate Office of Admissions. They provide campus tours to prospective and admitted students, serve on student panels, and welcome over 75,000 guests to campus each year!

LAH Student Mentors

LAH’s first year mentorship program matches a LAH upperclassman with incoming freshman. As a LAH Mentor you will be matched with a student(s) that you will conduct check-ins with to share resources, as well as, answer any questions. If you would like to support and be a role model for students entering UT, please complete this information form so we can match you with a mentee who is right for you.
