Sydney is a doctoral candidate in the combined School/Clinical Child Psychology program at the University of Texas at Austin. Prior to UT, Sydney received her master’s degree and specialist certificate in School Psychology at the University of Minnesota. She is a nationally certified school psychologist and has supported children, adolescents, and families across a variety of healthcare and educational settings. Sydney is interested in understanding and evaluating the various overarching systems that promote (or hinder) access to evidence-based practices and programs for mental health. In the future, she hopes to facilitate partnerships between research teams, healthcare systems, schools, and community mental health providers, as she believes this is one critical strategy that can assist in bridging the science-practice gap and address issues of underrepresentation. In addition to her professional interests, she enjoys spending her time catching up with friends, family, and cooling off at the ice rink as a competitive figure skater.
