THRIVE! Recovery Program
- This is an evidence-based practice peer support process group that offers emotional support, gives people a place to share knowledge, teach skills, provide practical assistance, and connect people with resources, opportunities, and communities of support. Peer supportive process groups are delivered through a group setting Monday through Wednesday for 1.5-hour increments. Peer support groups are offered via Zoom for those unable to attend in person. These groups participate in activities designed to develop social integration. THRIVE! utilizes music, art, book studies, sporting events, recovery functions, and music festivals. The teen group and the emerging adult group separately go out on one Friday outing per month, which usually lasts 3-4 hours. The teen group take three trips per year that last 3-4 days each, and the emerging adult group take two trips per year.
- THRIVE! H.O.P.E. is the program where our peer support specialists go into the school system to provide services. This school year we have facilitated gender specific groups at the Midland Alternative Program (MAP) and Alternative Education Center (AEC) in Ector County. On Tuesdays the males were at AEC and the girls were at MAP and on Thursday we would do the opposite. There was great success on both campuses and several participants started attending the Teen group on Monday and Wednesday evenings also. THRIVE! H.O.P.E. this next school year we are poised to be at many campuses, we lumped them together under one sub program.
