Feeling That Motley We: An Interview with Cameron Awkward Rich

Karma Chávez talks with Cameron Awkward-Rich about trans philosophy, life in the pandemic, and “feeling that motley we.”

Cameron Awkward-Rich is the author of two  collections  of poetry: Sympathetic Little Monster (Ricochet Editions, 2016) and Dispatch  (Persea Books, 2019), which was a finalist for a Lambda Literary Award. 
 
Also a critic, Cameron earned his PhD from Stanford University’s program in Modern Thought & Literature. He has received fellowships from Cave Canem, the Watering Hole, Duke  University’s Program in Feminist, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, and ACLS. Presently, he is an assistant professor of Women, Gender, Sexuality Studies at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
