by Rommy Torrico
Most of my sentiment throughout the process of creating this piece was urgency and raw, powerful emotion. I realized it was necessary for me to reach beyond ache in order to truly uplift our divine trans siblings; those with us, those detained and those watching over us, and depict a world that they, and all of us, could be proud of. We own this resilience as part of the journey toward liberation, and this is my way of recognizing that that journey is anything but quiet; it’s fiery and dynamic and shameless and angry and hopeful and beautiful.
