Critically acclaimed Austin composer Graham Reynolds (Golden Arm Trio, Bernie, Before Sunset) breathes new life into Frank Reaugh’s 1933 masterpiece, Twenty-four Hours with the Herd, a musical presentation of Reaugh’s stunning seven-part pastel series depicting the West Texas plains as a backdrop to cattle drives.Showcased in two performances on Friday, November 13, in the Texas Spirit Theater at the Bob Bullock Texas History Museum in Austin, this event will captivate and excite. Featuring Grammy Award-winning musician Redd Volkaert and narration by Austin writer Gene Fowler, Twenty-four Hours with the Herd combines the music of Reynolds and Volkaert, projections, 4D elements, and Reaugh’s landscapes for a truly unique artistic experience.
Performances, co-presented by the Bullock Museum in conjunction with their Tom Lea exhibition, will be held at 7:15 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. and tickets cost $24 (before service charges).
