Sherwood Forest serves children from low-income families and underserved communities in Missouri and Illinois, who live at or below the federal poverty line. Position Description
Student Nurses work closely with our two RN’s to support the physical health and wellbeing of the camp community. Student Nurses will be given the flexibility to work independently to assess and treat patients while receiving consistent guidance and feedback. Occasionally, nurses may be asked to provide care in backcountry and/or limited resource settings.
Qualifications
- 3rd or 4th year nursing student
- Valid class E driver’s license preferred
- Previous experience working with children and youth in a healthcare setting preferred
- Basic understanding and knowledge of working with children
- Interest in working in alternative nursing/medical fields
- Interpersonal skills, especially with regards to accepting guidance and feedback
- Ability to provide a safe environment and proper care for campers
- Ability to work and navigate in a variety of environments and weather conditions
Salary
Salary is based on education, experience, and qualifications ranging from $2,100 – $2,300. It includes room and board for the duration of employment.
