Lexington Medical Center’s Nurse Practitioner Fellowship is a structured, one-year program, specifically designed to augment new nurse practitioners with the depth, breadth, volume, and intensity of clinical training necessary for the clinical complexity of primary care. The Nurse Practitioner Fellow functions in a learning role receiving advanced training through practical hands-on and didactic educational experiences designed to increase confidence and clinical skills.
This structured, one-year program includes placement in primary care practices, specialty rotations, and didactic education opportunities. Fellow will serve as a primary care provider.
Qualifications Education and Licensure to be obtained by program start date (August 2020)
- Master or doctoral degree in nursing from an accredited college or university obtained within the last 18 months
- Licensure in South Carolina as an advanced practice registered nurse
- At least two years of full-time nursing practice or equivalent experience in providing direct patient care within the previous five years
Additional Qualifications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills Preferred Qualifications • High level of initiative, creativity, organization and time management.
- Experience with clinical documentation within an electronic health record. Familiarity with MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
