In the months leading up to the 2020 election, hundreds of student volunteers with TexPIRG will reach out to their peers on college campuses across the state to register them to vote and turn them out on Election Day.
As the largest and most diverse generation, young people have a chance to make a real impact in our country, but only if they vote.
TexPIRG Students works with professional staff at colleges and universities across Texas to make sure our peers have the skills, opportunities and training they need to create a better, more sustainable future for all of us.
This Fall our priority campaign is our New Voters Project. This November we have the opportunity to elect national, state, and local leaders who will be making important decisions that impact all of us. Young people make up the largest and most diverse group of potential voters in the country, with our own values, ideas and issues that we care about. That means we can make a big impact in the November Election, but only if we vote!
The TexPIRG internship program is designed for college students who are passionate about political engagement and looking to increase their experience in political organizing and strategy. This semester long program provides interns with opportunities to build their leadership skills, political engagement, and interest in advocacy careers. Interns will work remotely on the New Voters Project to get out the youth vote in the upcoming elections. Given the remote nature of the internship, students taking part in digital learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic can still apply and be considered for the position.
Apply today and an organizer will be in touch with you shortly! Sign up for a virtual internship info session!
