Applications are now open for the 2024 Roy Crane Award for Literary Arts.
This award is given each year for unique, creative effort in the performing, literary and visual arts. In 2024, the award(s) will be given in the area of literary arts. Awards range between $1,000 and $4,500.
The application and all supporting materials must be received by Friday, April 5, at 11:59 p.m. Central.
Who can apply?
- Any currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student from any major or area of study may compete for the award.
- Applicants must be enrolled during the semester in which the application is due.
- The selection committee will give no weight to any entrant’s grade point average or other academic achievement.
How to apply
- To compete for the award, a student must submit via Interfolio up to 5 examples of creative or non-fiction writing, limit of 25 pages.
- Work should be arranged in reverse chronological order, newest to oldest.
- Work submitted cannot be more than two years old.
- Each piece must be labeled with: name, title of work and date.
- Work submitted must represent creative achievement while enrolled at UT.
- Research or analysis does not qualify.
