The South Texas Theatre Auditions provide colleges and schools from across the U.S. the opportunity to scout exceptional talent from the Rio Grande Valley region of Texas. High school seniors and college transfer students who are seriously considering majoring in theatre in college present monologues, musical theatre selections, technical theatre portfolios, or a teaching statement for the consideration of college admissions representatives.
We will host an in-person event on Monday, October 6, 2025 at South Texas College in McAllen, TX. Students will be able to register online for an in-person audition or presentation time beginning August 1, 2025. The deadline to register for the in-person event has been extended to Friday, September 3, 12:00pm CST.
“Our mission is to help performers, designers, and technicians from theatre programs across the Rio Grande Valley to pursue a college education and prepare for a career in the arts by attending the best theatrical programs in the nation. This event helps students connect with college recruiters, receive scholarship support, and dream big.”
– Jaclyn Benavidez, local theatre educator and event organizer
