The South Texas Theatre Auditions provide colleges and schools from across the U.S. the opportunity to scout exceptional talent from the Rio Grande Valley region of Texas. High school seniors and college transfer students who are seriously considering majoring in theatre in college present monologues, musical theatre selections, technical theatre portfolios, or a teaching statement for the consideration of college admissions representatives.
We will host an in-person event on Monday, October 12, 2026 at South Texas College in McAllen, TX. Students will be able to register online for an in-person audition or presentation time beginning August 15, 2026. The deadline for students to register for the in-person event is October 5, 2026 at 11:59pm CST.
No walk-ins will be permitted for the 2026 STTA event.
Our mission is to help performers, designers, and technicians from theatre programs across the Rio Grande Valley to pursue a college education and prepare for a career in the arts by attending the best theatrical programs in the nation. This event helps students connect with college recruiters, receive scholarship support, and dream big.
– Jaclyn Benavidez, local theatre educator and event organizer
