UTNT (UT New Theatre) provides playwrights with the unique opportunity to see their plays take shape in front of audiences for the first time. Behind each production and reading, teams of theatre artists have worked together to bring the scripts from page to stage. The diverse variety in this year’s UTNT showcase encompasses paranormal conspiracies, extraterrestrial experiences, long-from improv and a collection of stories centering female voices. The developmental process behind each of these productions is often a transformative experience, allowing for creatives to discover more about their craft, society and themselves.
We talked to the UTNT directors and playwrights about the works that are being developed this year to find out more about these productions and their significance to both the audience and themselves. Watch the full interview below.
