In Memoriam: Thomas Waggoner, former Program Director of Fine Arts Education and Alumnus

It is with a heavy heart that we share the sad news that Tom Waggoner passed away on Tuesday, August 6th in Austin, Texas, with his children at his side. Tom worked in the College of Fine Arts from 2011 to 2016 as Program Director of Fine Arts Education and as a Supervisor of Student Teachers in the Butler School of Music. Tom was a tremendous advocate for arts education in the state of Texas and served in many capacities including his years as the President of the Board of Directors of the Center for Educator Development in the Fine Arts.
