You’ve come to the right place.
“Teaching others has allowed me to learn more about myself as a leader, peer and student than I thought possible.” Natalie Gomez, B.F.A. Visual Art Studies 2016
Since 1938, the College of Fine Arts has been preparing artists, actors, dancers and musicians to teach in Texas schools and schools across the nation. Our contemporary teacher preparation program focuses on community engagement, cultural diversity and technology.
As a prospective fine arts teacher, you will find that our program provides valuable real-world, early teaching experience in many settings. Ensure your success with UTeach Art, UTeach Dance, UTeach Music or UTeach Theatre in a teacher preparation program that will prepare you for the classroom and to take the certification exams TEA requires, leading to Texas Teacher Certification. UTeach Fine Arts graduates’ exam passing rates for these tests typically exceed 98%.
Upon graduation, look forward to excellent placement. Our graduates are highly sought after for positions in Texas public schools and organizations in diverse communities, as well as schools around the country.
We prepare teachers. You change the world.
