Art Education: Big Art Day on campus!

Students from AED 351: Materials and Processes course (Nyta Prom, Destini Carter, Ana De La Garza, Adelina Hernandez, Erin Jackson, Alex Lankford, Samantha Seat, Beau Seibel, and Molly Thomason) lined up in front of their booth with art supplies for Big Art Day on UT campus

Art Education students in Dr. Christina Bain’s AED 351: Materials and Processes course (Nyta Prom, Destini Carter, Ana De La Garza, Adelina Hernandez, Erin Jackson, Alex Lankford, Samantha Seat, Beau Seibel, and Molly Thomason) led a pop-up art advocacy event on campus Wednesday, March 12th.

“Big Art Day” is a statewide art advocacy initiative that helps raise awareness of art education and art as a creative force in our communities. Students designed and led three free art-making activities: Expressive printing, creative bookmarks, and charming charms. Students on campus were encouraged to join in the art-making.
