Ph.D. Students

rebal Rebal Al Jurdi
Rebal Al Jurdi received his Bachelor of Engineering (BE) with High Distinction from the American University of Beirut, Lebanon in 2013. Before joining the graduate program at UT, he worked for a semiconductor startup as a systems engineer. He is currently working on a project for Crown Castle under the co-supervision of professors Jeffrey Andrews and Robert Heath. His research interests range from HetNets, physical layer communication and digital hardware design, to network information theory.
Mandar Mandar Kulkarni
Mandar N. Kulkarni received M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in 2015 and B.Tech in Electronics and Communications Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati in 2013. He is currently working towards his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin. His research interests are broadly in the field of wireless communication, with current focus on modeling and analysis of cellular networks operating at millimeter wave frequencies. He has held summer internship positions at Nokia Bell Labs, Murray Hill, NJ, U.S.A. (2016); Nokia Networks, Arlington Heights, IL, U.S.A. (2014, 2015); Technical University, Berlin, Germany (2012); and Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India (2011). He received the President of India Gold Medal in 2013.
Yingzhe Yingzhe Li
Yingzhe Li is a Ph.D. student at UT Austin and is being jointly supervised by Dr. Jeff Andrews and Dr. Francois Baccelli. He received his B.E. degree in electronic engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China, in 2012. During his undergraduate study, he focused on capacity and delay scaling analysis in wireless ad hoc networks and cognitive radio networks. His research interests are in the broad area of wireless communications and networking, and currently he is working on statistical modeling and optimization in heterogeneous celluar networks.
derya Derya Malak
Derya Malak is a PhD student at Wireless Networking & Communications Group (WNCG) in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin. She received her BS in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (with minor in Physics) at Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey, in June 2010. She held research and teaching assistantship positions at Next-generation and Wireless Communication Laboratory (NWCL) and received her MS in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Koc University, Istanbul, Turkey, in February 2013. Her research interests are in the area of communication theory and networks, information theory and biological networks. Currently, she is working on Device-to-Device (D2D) communications and stochastic modeling of content caching.
Ahmad AlAmmouri
Ahmad AlAmmouri is a Ph.D. student in Electrical Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin, jointly supervised by Prof. Jeffrey Andrews and Prof. François Baccelli. He received his M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), Thuwal, Saudi Arabia, in 2016, and his B.Sc. degree (Hons.) in Electrical Engineering from the University of Jordan, Amman, Jordan, in 2014. His research interests include statistical modeling and performance analysis of wireless networks.
