Virtual Q&A with Colombian artist Monika Bravo

November 18th at 4:30 PM CST

The Landmarks Public Art program at UT is hosting a virtual Q&A with artist Monika Bravo, whose work will be installed at the Jackson School of Geosciences. Alexandra Mendez, M.A. Candidate at UT’s Center for Latin American Visual Studies, will moderate an online Q&A with Bravo. The virtual event will also include remarks by Landmarks director Andrée Bober and Jackson School of Geosciences Dean Claudia Mora.

Bravo’s animation weaves together geological data with images of Iceland, Colombia, New Mexico, and Colorado, looped across three flat screen displays. A commission that began in 2010, An Interval of Time chronicles the evolution of the artist’s practice over the past decade and underscores her deepening interest in the interwovenness of metaphysical, spiritual and scientific inquiry.
