“One time I set the reaction on hotplate, and left for home before the temperature stabilized. For some reason, the temperature of the hot plate reached above the set temperature. My reaction failed because all the solvent evaporated, but nothing worse happened. I wish I had stayed for few more minutes and left only when everything was safe.”
