Chancellor William H. McRaven Guardian Angel Awards

On April 19, 2018, the IDVSA and the UT School of Social Work honored 4 individuals with the inagural William H. McRaven Guardian Angel Awards. These individuals were acknowledged for their demonstrated and unyielding commitment to seek justice for all those involved in interpersonal abuse and violence – survivors and offenders – with care, compassion, and an understanding of the complexity of these issues.

The William H. McRaven Guardian Angel Award is named for Chancellor Bill McRaven (retired U.S. Navy four-star admiral) for his extraordinary leadership as the Chancellor of The University of Texas System and his tireless efforts to end campus sexual assault, sexual misconduct, and all forms of interpersonal violence, especially on college campuses.
