Profs. Wang, Hayhoe, Wei, and Zhu recently received an NSF Emerging Frontiers in Research and Innovation (EFRI) award “Brain-inspired Algorithms for Autonomous Robots (BAAR)”. This cross-disciplinary project is a collaboration among four disciplines: Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Neuroscience, and Psychology. The research aims to develop novel AI algorithms with principles of neurobiological learning and insights into brain intelligence for autonomous robots such as self-driving vehicles and household collaborative robots. The book “Robust Gain-Scheduled Estimation and Control of Electrified Vehicles via LPV Technique” authored by several MSL former members, Prof. Hui Zhang and Prof. Rongrong Wang, as well as Prof. Wang has been recently published by Springer.
